Opel STX Concept and GSE models head to Paris Motor Show

Opel STX Concept previews future estates

Short for Sports Tourer eXperimental, the STX Concept previews Opel’s vision for a future electric estate car and continues the brand’s long-running Sports Tourer tradition.

Its design introduces a more evolved interpretation of Opel’s styling language, including a more prominent Vizor front end with animated curved light elements, flush surfaces and a sharply sloping rear.

The concept also features an active aerodynamic system with moving elements at the rear that adjust according to driving conditions to optimise airflow, reduce drag and improve stability. Opel says the study also previews design and technology elements intended for future production models.

Opel GSE 27FE brings more than 800 hp

The new Opel GSE 27FE is the GEN4 Formula E car that Opel will campaign in the Formula E World Championship from the coming season.

It uses permanent all-wheel drive, produces more than 800 hp and can recover energy at up to 700 kW under regenerative braking. The car will appear in Paris for the first time in its final championship livery.

Corsa GSE is Opel's quickest current production model

The new Corsa GSE will make its exhibition debut after already becoming available to order.

Its electric powertrain produces 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Nm, while a lowered sports chassis helps support its performance focus. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, making it faster than any other current production Opel, and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h.

An active sports sound system also varies with acceleration and vehicle speed.

Astra gets new GSE Line trim

Opel will also introduce the Astra GSE Line, which brings GSE styling to the Astra without restricting buyers to a specific powertrain.

Due to open for orders from spring 2027, the trim will be offered with battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid and conventional combustion-engine powertrains.

Electric SUV range also on display

The Mokka GSE produces the same 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Nm as the Corsa GSE and incorporates rally-inspired technology and styling. With a 200 km/h top speed, Opel says it is its fastest all-electric production model to date.

The Grandland Electric AWD, Opel’s first all-electric all-wheel-drive model, develops 239 kW (325 hp) and up to 509 Nm. It features Frequency Selective Damping and Normal, Eco, Sport and 4WD drive modes.

Completing the SUV line-up is the Frontera Electric Extended Range, which uses a 54 kWh battery (52 kWh usable) and offers up to 400 km of WLTP range. The Frontera can also accommodate up to seven occupants and includes features such as Intelli-Seats and a smartphone station.

Opel will officially unveil the new models during its Paris Motor Show press conference on October 12 at 11:40 CEST (1:40 PM GST / 5:40 AM EDT).
