Italian marque Alfa Romeo has unveiled the Cuorerosso concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, previewing the Italian manufacturer's future design, performance and electrification strategy. The four-seat concept introduces a design philosophy called Bellezza Necessaria (Necessary Beauty), prioritising functionality, technology and quality while eliminating unnecessary elements. Its name combines the Italian words for heart (cuore) and red (rosso), reflecting Italian design, sportiness and the colour red.
Measuring 4,700 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,331 mm high, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase, the Cuorerosso combines grand tourer proportions with supercar-inspired styling, a wedge-shaped profile, sculpted bonnet and truncated Coda Tronca rear.
Its signature Scudetto grille incorporates illuminated triangular elements referencing Alfa Romeo's historic cross and serpent emblems. The front lighting forms part of the traditional Trilobo design, while the rear features a Scudetto-shaped window and two circular taillights.
Other details include flush glazing, concealed door handles operated through roof-mounted touch controls, rear-hinged back doors, Italian flag detailing on the mirrors, a Quadrifoglio badge and forged wheels inspired by Alfa Romeo's classic telephone-dial design.
The exclusive Liquid Ink Red paint combines an aluminium base with a transparent coloured layer, shifting from vibrant red to almost black depending on the viewing angle.
The four-seat cabin features individual bucket-inspired seats, a minimalist dashboard influenced by the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and an extended centre console.
The Cannocchiale Vivente instrument display physically switches between two configurations: Immersivo, featuring twin instrument pods, and Concentrato, which combines them into one. Displayed information is reduced as driving engagement increases.
The central Magma Display integrates a touchscreen, rotary controller, drive-mode selector and physical switches, with three driving modes: Cruise, Sport and Quadrifoglio.
The Con-tatto Volante steering concept incorporates haptic and acoustic feedback to enhance communication between driver and vehicle.
Materials include Poltrona Frau nubuck, regenerated leather containing 60% post-industrial waste, recycled carbon-fibre composites and lightweight monofilament fabric developed with sailing team Luna Rossa. A removable passenger-side bag is integrated into the dashboard.
Alfa Romeo envisages a 2.9-litre V6 full-hybrid powertrain paired with Q4 all-wheel drive, a torque-converter automatic transmission and a carbon-fibre driveshaft.
The concept also incorporates air suspension, steer-by-wire steering and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes. Its reported kerb weight is approximately 1,750 kg, with a drag coefficient of 0.28.
Alfa Romeo has not disclosed horsepower, torque, acceleration or electric range figures.
The Cuorerosso reflects Alfa Romeo's multi-energy strategy, encompassing fully electric, plug-in hybrid, mild-hybrid and full-hybrid powertrains, with future models potentially offering Quadrifoglio performance variants.
Although the Cuorerosso is not a direct preview of a confirmed production model, its design philosophy and technologies could influence future Alfa Romeo vehicles.
No production date or pricing has been announced for the concept.
