Al-Futtaim Lexus has launched the all-electric Lexus RZ 500e SUV and the new-generation Lexus ES luxury sedan in the UAE, marking the brand's first introduction of battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) to its local line-up. The launch expands the Lexus electrified vehicle range across the midsize luxury SUV and sedan segments. While the RZ 500e is built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, the new Lexus ES offers two powertrain options: the fully electric ES 500e and the ES 350h hybrid. According to Jacques Brent, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Lexus, the introduction builds on more than 20 years of electrification experience, dating back to the first Lexus RX hybrid in 2005, while maintaining the brand's focus on comfort, craftsmanship, performance and quality.
The Lexus RZ 500e is powered by dual electric motors producing 375 hp, paired with Lexus' DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system. The technology continuously adjusts power distribution between the front and rear wheels to improve stability, control and handling.
Its 74.6 kWh battery delivers a claimed driving range of up to 460 km, while acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 4.6 seconds.
Charging from 10–100% takes approximately four hours, while a 150 kW DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 10–80% in around 30 minutes.
Inside, the Lexus RZ 500e features ventilated front seats, heated front and rear seats, and a 13-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System. Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 provides a range of driver assistance and safety technologies.
Customers can choose from six single-tone and four two-tone exterior colours, along with three interior colour options.
The Lexus RZ 500e Platinum AWD is priced from AED 255,000 in the UAE.
The new-generation Lexus ES arrives in the UAE with two electrified powertrain options, combining the luxury sedan's established focus on comfort and refinement with updated technology.
The fully electric Lexus ES 500e produces 338 hp, features all-wheel drive and offers an approximate driving range of 465 km.
The Lexus ES 350h hybrid develops 244 hp, with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations available. Lexus claims fuel efficiency of approximately 27.7 km/l, making it an option for buyers seeking a luxury sedan with a hybrid powertrain.
Both versions feature a spacious cabin with multimedia and head-up displays, while an available 17-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System enhances the audio experience.
Safety equipment includes Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, complemented by Advanced Park, a Panoramic View Monitor and Parking Support Brake.
The new Lexus ES is available in seven exterior colours, including the newly introduced Sou and Sonic Copper, and three interior colour choices, including White.
The Lexus ES 350h hybrid starts from AED 230,000, while the fully electric Lexus ES 500e is priced at AED 275,000, inclusive of VAT.
