Dubai Police has unveiled the second-generation Ghiath smart patrol vehicle in partnership with Al-Futtaim, the exclusive distributor of BYD and its premium DENZA brand in the UAE. Based on the plug-in hybrid DENZA B8, the new patrol supports Dubai Police’s strategy to integrate artificial intelligence, smart security systems and sustainable mobility into its operational fleet. The project is designed to improve response times, enhance field operations and meet the evolving requirements of modern policing in Dubai. The unveiling took place alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Dubai Police and Al-Futtaim. The agreement was signed by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, and Yousuf AlRaeesi, Director of Government Affairs at Al-Futtaim.
The collaboration integrates the DENZA B8’s plug-in hybrid powertrain, strong performance and all-terrain capability with advanced policing equipment and AI-powered surveillance systems.
Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said the initiative reinforces the force’s ambition to remain among the world’s leading police organisations by adopting cutting-edge technologies and sustainable transport solutions.
Major General Al Mazrouei highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in accelerating innovation, while AlRaeesi reaffirmed Al-Futtaim’s commitment to supporting the development of Dubai Police’s smart mobility ecosystem.
The ceremony was also attended by BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li, Al-Futtaim Vice Chairman and CEO Omar Al Futtaim, Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Major General Rashid Al Falasi and other senior officials.
Ghiath is one of Dubai Police’s flagship smart patrol programmes, designed to integrate connected technologies, artificial intelligence and specialised equipment into a next-generation mobile policing platform.
The second-generation model expands the concept with an electrified vehicle capable of supporting daily patrol duties, rapid-response scenarios and wider operational requirements, while aligning with Dubai’s sustainability and smart city goals.
The DENZA-based Ghiath joins a growing fleet of advanced and electrified Dubai Police vehicles. Recent additions include the Voyah Free extended-range electric SUV, introduced to support lower-emission patrol operations, along with the fully electric Lotus Eletre R and Lotus Emeya S.
Dubai Police has also added the Mercedes-AMG SL 55, Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and electric Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 to its high-profile patrol fleet. These models complement established icons such as the Bugatti Veyron and Lamborghini Aventador, which continue to enhance police visibility across key tourist areas.
The road-going DENZA B8 is already available to customers in the UAE. Positioned as a full-size premium SUV, it offers seven seats and a plug-in hybrid system combining a petrol engine with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive.
The system produces 603 hp and 760 Nm, enabling 0–100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, while delivering a claimed WLTP combined range of up to 825 km.
UAE prices start from AED 243,900 for the Flagship variant and rise to AED 250,900 for the Executive. The Dubai Police Ghiath version will differ significantly, featuring specialised security hardware, communication systems and police-specific technology tailored for operational use.
