The 2026 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix trophy has arrived at Etihad Airways' headquarters ahead of the season finale at Yas Marina Circuit from 3–6 December, marking the 18th edition of the event

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix trophy made a special appearance at Etihad Airways' headquarters at Zayed International Airport, according to an announcement on 27 October 2026, as preparations continue for the Formula 1 season finale on Yas Island. The trophy was welcomed by Antonoaldo Neves, Group CEO of Etihad Airways, and Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, celebrating a longstanding partnership that has supported the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since its inaugural edition in 2009. As the event's title partner, Etihad Airways plays an important role in connecting Abu Dhabi with Formula 1 fans worldwide. The airline welcomes international visitors from more than 100 destinations while offering hospitality experiences, fan activations at Yas Marina Circuit and exclusive benefits for Etihad Guest members. One of the race weekend's signature spectacles is the pre-race Etihad Airways aircraft flyover, which has become a familiar highlight for spectators at the circuit and millions of viewers watching worldwide. Neves expressed enthusiasm about welcoming international visitors for the final race of the season, while Al Noaimi highlighted the partnership's contribution to the event's growth and Abu Dhabi's international profile.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix trophy design and features

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix trophy draws inspiration from the saqr falcon, a national symbol of the UAE and one of the world's fastest birds.

Its distinctive design depicts a falcon in flight, with two sculpted wings framing the bird's body and reflecting the symbolism of speed, precision and ambition.

Crafted from highly polished fine silver, the trophy features a reflective geometric pattern inspired by Abu Dhabi's desert sand dunes and Etihad Airways' distinctive aircraft livery.

The inner surfaces of its silver wings are finished with 24-carat hard gold plating, while onyx stones set into the falcon's eyes complete the design.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026 dates, venue and entertainment

The 18th Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place from Thursday, 3 December, to Sunday, 6 December 2026, at Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island.

A permanent fixture on the Formula 1 calendar since 2009, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix traditionally hosts the championship's season finale. Its distinctive day-night race format sees drivers start in daylight before finishing under the circuit's floodlights.

Beyond the on-track action, the event combines motorsport with music and entertainment through the Yasalam presented by e& programme.

The programme includes four nights of After-Race concerts and Official After-Parties, bringing international performers and entertainment experiences to Abu Dhabi throughout the race weekend.

The 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix welcomed a record 339,000 attendees across the event and received the F1 Promoter of the Year award, highlighting its position as one of the championship's major international events.

F1 championship battle adds excitement to Abu Dhabi finale

The 2026 Formula 1 season has delivered an intense championship campaign, adding further interest to the final races leading up to Abu Dhabi.

Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli reportedly holds a commanding 123-point advantage in the Drivers' Championship following his victory at the United States Grand Prix.

The 20-year-old Italian could potentially become Formula 1's youngest-ever world champion before the Abu Dhabi finale, depending on the results of the remaining races.

Meanwhile, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc remain closely matched in the battle for the positions behind the championship leader.

Regardless of how the title fight develops, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will provide the final opportunity for drivers and teams to secure important championship results in 2026.
