Chinese automaker XPENG will globally launch its next-generation G9L flagship SUV at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on October 12, marking a major step in its expansion across the global EV and AI mobility market. The XPENG showcase will occupy more than 1,000 square metres in Hall 6, making it one of the largest displays among Chinese brands at the show, which runs from October 12–18. The event will highlight XPENG’s growing role in electric vehicles, AI-defined mobility and autonomous driving technology.
Described as XPENG's Next-Gen AI Flagship SUV, the G9L measures 5,120 mm long with a 3,100 mm wheelbase and will be offered in BEV and REEV forms.
Already launched in China, it combines XPENG's latest AI, intelligent-driving and vehicle technologies with a focus on safety, driving and comfort. European order books will open and pricing will be announced in Paris.
Planned for 64 global markets, the G9L will become the fourth XPENG model produced in Europe, following the G6, G9 and P7+. European production will take place at Magna's Graz plant in Austria, alongside production in Guangzhou, China.
XPENG says the G9L meets the design standards of Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C-NCAP and CIASI five-star safety-rating systems and has undergone 192 crash tests and more than 6.74 million km of road testing across 26 countries and regions.
XPENG will also showcase its broader Physical AI ecosystem, including humanoid robots, flying cars and autonomous driving systems alongside its vehicle lineup.
The brand will display multiple models including the G6, G9, P7+ and X9, demonstrating its transition towards a unified platform combining AI mobility, robotics and vehicle intelligence.
The G9L uses XPENG’s VLA 2.0 foundation model and is powered by the same Turing AI chip used in its IRON humanoid robot, reinforcing its “Car-as-a-Robot” development strategy.
XPENG and Tesla will be the only two automakers featured in the Paris Motor Show’s official Autonomous Lab, highlighting their leadership in global self-driving technology development.
XPENG will demonstrate its NGP intelligent-driving technology in the L03 SUV coupe, marking its first large-scale NGP test-ride experience outside China and allowing European customers and media to experience the technology in real-world conditions.
XPENG is also adapting intelligent driving for European roads, traffic and regulations, supported by its foundation model's generalisation capabilities and growing European R&D operations.
XPENG is expanding its European sales, service, manufacturing and development operations, including its Munich R&D centre.
It has delivered 100,000+ vehicles outside China, including over 60,000 in Europe and more than 6,000 in France since entering the French market two years ago. The L03, globally unveiled in Munich in July 2026, is now preparing for its first European customer deliveries.
This forms part of XPENG's “In Europe, For Europe” strategy, combining European intelligent-driving development, local manufacturing and products tailored to regional customers.
XPENG's overseas deliveries exceeded 20,000 units for the first time in Q2 2026, up 81% year-on-year, alongside continued expansion of its international sales, stores and local operations.
In August, its robotics business completed its first funding round of more than US$900 million, described by XPENG as the largest single-round private raise in China's embodied AI industry. In September, IRON rolled off its newly commissioned production line, marking a key step towards mass production.
XPENG Paris Night takes place on October 11, followed by the company's Paris Motor Show press conference on October 12 from 11:10–11:25 a.m. at Hall 6, Booth A51, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
The showcase brings together XPENG's latest vehicles, intelligent-driving technology, robotics and future mobility projects as it expands its Physical AI technologies and global presence.
