A specially engineered MINI Countryman is completing demanding Rocky Mountains testing ahead of the rugged special edition’s world premiere in October 2026.

MINI is testing a camouflaged, all-road-capable Countryman Edition across the Rocky Mountains in the United States ahead of its October 2026 debut. The programme covers gravel tracks, rocky terrain, steep mountain passes and remote routes, subjecting the SUV to high altitudes, loose surfaces and rapidly changing weather that cannot be fully replicated on conventional proving grounds. Released images show the Countryman fitted with a roof-mounted cargo box and driving through deep mud, reinforcing its adventure-focused positioning.

More capable Countryman

The special edition is intended to combine the Countryman’s everyday usability with greater confidence away from paved roads, demonstrating the versatility that has long defined MINI’s largest SUV.

Jean-Philippe Parain, Head of MINI, said the model reflects the brand’s focus on turning journeys into adventures and will combine capability with character.

MINI has not yet disclosed its powertrain, chassis upgrades, equipment, production numbers or intended markets.

October world premiere

The rugged MINI Countryman Edition will make its world premiere in October 2026, when its design, technical details and position within the range are expected to be revealed.

Pricing and Middle East availability have yet to be announced.
