Distinctive lighting and 20-inch wheels

The GS7 stands 1,780 mm tall and adopts broad, upright proportions that give it a confident SUV stance, complemented by a useful 200 mm of ground clearance.

Standard exterior highlights include sharply styled 20-inch alloy wheels, with an alternative dark-finish design offered exclusively with the Dark Black exterior colour.

At the front, a 2,618 mm uninterrupted Skyline light strip creates a distinctive visual signature, while the AI emotion-interactive LED headlamps use 2,248 lighting pixels and offer more than eight welcome and lighting animations. Arctic Light intelligent taillamps provide an equally distinctive signature at the rear.

As for paint and colour choices, the GS7 is available in six exterior colours, three interior colour schemes and a selection of premium matte-effect finishes.

Spacious, luxury-focused cabin

The GAC GS7 places considerable emphasis on passenger comfort. According to the brochure, the cabin measures 3,222 mm in length, offers up to 1,058 mm of second-row legroom and provides a floor-to-ceiling height of 1,268 mm. There are also 34 storage compartments positioned throughout the interior.

The seats feature a 10-layer, sofa-inspired construction and can be specified with ventilation, heating and an eight-point Shiatsu massage function. Rear passengers also benefit from seats that recline by up to 137 degrees, creating a more relaxed seating position on longer journeys.

GAC further claims that the cabin incorporates 23 square metres of ultra-soft leather surfaces and seven square metres of premium Nappa leather, although the final materials may vary depending on the selected UAE specification.

22-speaker audio and connected technology

A 15.6-inch central infotainment display provides access to the GS7’s vehicle and entertainment functions. Smartphone connectivity includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the localised entertainment ecosystem supports services such as Spotify and Deezer.

Other highlights include a 27-inch head-up display, four-zone voice recognition, remote smartphone controls and a 22-speaker surround-sound system with rotating lift-up speakers.

The system is powered by a Qualcomm 8155 chip and runs GAC’s ADiGO 6.0 interface, which the company describes as the system’s first overseas introduction. The five-layer connected ecosystem designed to provide faster and more seamless access to digital services.

Triple-motor plug-in hybrid powertrain

The GS7 uses GAC’s third-generation plug-in hybrid system, built around a petrol engine said to achieve 42.5 per cent thermal efficiency. It is paired with a triple-motor all-wheel-drive architecture that can continuously manage power distribution to improve traction, stability and efficiency across different conditions.

Maximum system output is listed at 501 hp, enabling the GS7 to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 5.8 seconds. Six selectable energy-management modes are also included, allowing the vehicle to adapt its use of petrol and electrical power for shorter urban trips or longer-distance driving.

GAC has not yet disclosed the UAE model’s engine displacement, maximum torque, transmission details, fuel-tank capacity, charging speeds or official fuel-consumption figure.

36.3 kWh battery and 1,020 km range

Energy is stored in a 36.3 kWh dedicated hybrid Magazine Battery. With a full charge and full tank, GAC claims a combined driving range of up to 1,020 km under the CLTC testing cycle.

The manufacturer’s global S7 information lists a pure-electric range of up to 150 km under the NEDC cycle, although a separate UAE-homologated electric-range figure has not yet been published. Real-world range will vary according to speed, climate, terrain, charging habits and driving style.

Adaptive chassis and intelligent AWD

The GS7’s so-called Megastar Intelligent Chassis incorporates a Matrix FSD adaptive damping system, designed to reduce the impact of uneven surfaces and provide a smoother, more controlled ride.

Its AI Intelligent AWD system adjusts torque distribution according to traction and driving conditions, while the combination of all-wheel drive, adaptive damping and 200 mm of clearance is intended to provide greater confidence on poor roads and light off-road terrain.

Ten airbags standard

Safety equipment includes 10 airbags across all specifications, which GAC claims is the highest number in the GS7’s class.

The SUV also receives Level 2 driver assistance, multi-scenario active-safety functions and a 540-degree camera system that provides a wider view around and beneath the vehicle. FAPA automated parking can steer the GS7 into several types of parking spaces using a one-touch command.

With its competitive starting price, strong output, long claimed range and extensive comfort technology, the 2027 GAC GS7 PHEV is shaping up as a significant new entrant in the UAE’s expanding plug-in hybrid SUV market. Final trim details, full specifications and the confirmed launch date are expected to be announced closer to its official arrival.
