Kia’s second dedicated all-electric PBV expands the brand into the light commercial vehicle segment, offering more space and capability than the PV5

South Korean automaker Kia has released the first teaser images and video of the PV7, its second dedicated all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV), ahead of its world premiere at IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, on September 14, 2026. The PV7 expands Kia’s PBV lineup into the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, with the company positioning it as a larger and more capable alternative to the PV5 for a broader range of business and lifestyle applications.

One-box design previewed

The teaser images show the PV7 in a variety of everyday work and lifestyle settings, highlighting the adaptability Kia intends to offer across different use cases.

The exterior adopts a one-box profile with balanced proportions and a robust stance. A black bonnet and pillar garnish contrast with the body colour, while Kia’s signature front and rear lighting graphics reinforce the visual identity of its PBV range.

Kia has not yet announced detailed specifications, dimensions, battery capacity or driving range for the PV7.

Built on E-GMP.S

The PV7 is based on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S platform and follows the PV5 as the second purpose-built model in the company’s expanding PBV family.

Kia says the PV7 and future derivatives will broaden its business-optimised electric mobility offering, allowing the brand to address a wider range of commercial and customer requirements.

The company describes the model as a key part of its wider PBV strategy, which is built around adaptable vehicle platforms designed for multiple applications.

Global debut at IAA Transportation

The Kia PV7 will make its global debut on September 14 at IAA Transportation in Hannover, which Kia describes as the world’s leading commercial vehicle exhibition.

The company will also showcase a range of PV5 derivatives at the event to demonstrate the scalability of its PBV strategy across different customer applications.
