Škoda builds one-millionth Karoq at Kvasiny

The Graphite Grey milestone SUV marks nine years of Karoq production, while its successor is set to debut around the end of 2027 or beginning of 2028.
Škoda Auto has produced its one-millionth Karoq at the Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic. Finished in Graphite Grey, the milestone vehicle arrives nearly nine years after the compact SUV’s 2017 launch. Sold in around 60 markets, the Karoq remains an important part of Škoda’s range and its third most popular SUV. It has earned praise for its spacious, versatile cabin, extensive standard equipment and availability with front- or all-wheel drive. Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, said the milestone reflected the commitment and teamwork of employees at Kvasiny, while also thanking social partner KOVO.
GCC specifications
In GCC markets, the Karoq uses a turbocharged 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine producing 150 hp and 250 Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Its awards include a Red Dot Award for Product Design, the 2018 Czech Car of the Year title and the Best Value Family SUV award at the 2023 What Car? Awards.
Successor planned for 2027–2028
Škoda confirmed that development of the Karoq’s successor is under way, with its unveiling planned for the turn of 2027 and 2028. Further design, powertrain and production details remain undisclosed.
Record production at Kvasiny
The Karoq has been built at Kvasiny since launch and accounts for a significant share of the plant’s output. The facility also produces the Octavia and Kodiaq and has annual capacity exceeding 300,000 vehicles.
Following expanded Kodiaq production and the addition of the Octavia, Kvasiny set a record in 2025 by building 301,500 Škoda vehicles. The plant continues to be modernised, with its paint shop due for an upgrade to improve quality, flexibility and compatibility with more advanced materials.
