Fifth-generation A6 allroad debuts with wider stance, adaptive air suspension, quattro AWD and, for the first time, a plug-in hybrid powertrain

German automaker Audi has officially unveiled the fifth-generation A6 allroad, introducing a more advanced and electrified version of its long-running crossover estate. The latest model builds on over two decades of allroad heritage, combining luxury wagon comfort with SUV-inspired versatility.

A familiar formula evolves

Positioned between a traditional estate car and a full-size SUV, the new A6 allroad continues to follow a proven formula that has defined the nameplate for more than 25 years. It is designed to handle a wide range of driving scenarios, from everyday city commutes to long-distance touring and light off-road use.

With its latest iteration, Audi has focused on refining comfort, practicality and all-terrain capability, while also integrating new electrified powertrain options to meet evolving market demands.

Wider, tougher and more capable

The fifth-generation A6 allroad adopts a more rugged design, featuring model-specific exterior elements, pronounced wheel arches and protective cladding that emphasise its off-road credentials. Larger wheels, measuring up to 21 inches, further enhance its visual presence.

Compared to the standard A6 Avant, the allroad sits 34 mm higher and features a specially tuned adaptive air suspension system. This allows drivers to adjust ride height based on driving conditions, improving both comfort and ground clearance when needed.

Standard quattro all-wheel drive and available all-wheel steering enhance stability, traction and agility across varying terrains, while the wider stance gives the car a more planted and confident look on the road.

Electrified powertrain options

For the first time, the A6 allroad will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, marking a significant step in the model’s evolution.

Customers can choose between a 3.0-litre V6 TDI equipped with Audi’s MHEV Plus mild-hybrid system or a new plug-in hybrid setup that combines a turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a 25.9 kWh battery.

The plug-in hybrid variant delivers up to 95 km of electric-only range and supports AC charging at up to 11 kW, enabling many daily journeys to be completed without using the combustion engine.

A high-tech luxury cabin

Inside, the A6 allroad benefits from Audi’s latest digital architecture, offering a modern and technology-focused cabin experience.

The interior features a fully digital cockpit with an 11.9-inch driver display and a 14.5-inch central infotainment screen. An optional 10.9-inch passenger display is also available, adding to the car’s high-tech appeal.

Improved sound insulation, premium materials and advanced connectivity features contribute to a refined driving environment, while generous cabin space and luggage capacity ensure the A6 allroad remains a practical choice for families and long-distance travel.

The SUV alternative

Audi positions the A6 allroad as a compelling alternative to traditional SUVs, offering similar versatility with improved driving dynamics and efficiency.

With its raised ride height, adaptive suspension, electrified powertrains and standard all-wheel drive, the model delivers SUV-like capability while maintaining the comfort and handling characteristics of a luxury wagon.

Pricing and availability

The new A6 allroad is scheduled to go on sale across Europe from June 18, with prices starting at €77,250 (approximately USD 89,000 or AED 327,700).

While the model appears well suited for markets like the UAE, Audi has not yet confirmed official GCC specifications, regional pricing or launch timelines.
