Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will organise the inaugural Dubai EV World 2026 (Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference) from November 10–12 at Dubai World Trade Centre, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Held under the theme “Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future,” the Dubai EV event aims to accelerate the emirate’s shift towards electric mobility and strengthen its position as a global hub for EV innovation, sustainable transport and future mobility technologies.
EV World 2026 Dubai is expected to bring together 300+ local and international companies, authorities and organisations, over 30 business partners, 70 speakers and more than 10,000 industry specialists and visitors.
The Dubai electric vehicle exhibition will cover EV manufacturing and operations, batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, sustainable energy, fast charging, smart infrastructure, air mobility and unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous systems, digital solutions and AI.
It will also connect companies, investors, developers, government entities and decision-makers, creating opportunities for collaboration across the global electric mobility ecosystem.
RTA Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors Mattar Al Tayer said public transport is rapidly transitioning towards electric and new-energy vehicles, driven by advances in batteries, clean energy, charging infrastructure, AI and autonomous systems. This is also creating investment opportunities for cities combining flexible regulation, advanced infrastructure, innovation and public-private partnerships.
RTA’s Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050 strategy, which it says was the first long-term strategy of its kind by an entity in the Middle East, targets net-zero-emission public transport by 2050. Covering vehicles, buses and marine transport, it aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy.
Environmentally friendly hybrids now account for more than 72% of Dubai’s taxi and limousine fleet, while EVs represent 19%, exceeding the 2026 target.
RTA plans to transition the entire taxi and limousine fleet to electric and hydrogen power by 2040, supported by expanding EV charging infrastructure in Dubai, autonomous EV trials and the rollout of electric buses designed for regional conditions.
Marine transport is also moving towards electric and hydrogen propulsion across Dubai Creek and Dubai Water Canal, reducing emissions while maintaining heritage services.
Preparations include an agreement with China EV100 to increase Chinese participation and cooperation in industry, technology and R&D, while connecting Chinese capabilities with investment and commercial opportunities in the UAE and wider region.
Al Tayer also met China EV100 Chairman Dr Zhang Yongwei to discuss cooperation in EVs, new-energy vehicles and sustainable mobility. The organising committee has conducted promotional visits and meetings in China, Germany, Belgium and India to attract companies and institutions involved in EVs, batteries, charging, clean energy and smart technologies.
EV World 2026 aims to attract high-value investment, advanced technologies and global partnerships while addressing key challenges such as charging infrastructure, battery management and vehicle-to-grid integration.
Dubai’s strategic location, advanced infrastructure and growing EV ecosystem position it as a key global hub for developing and deploying electric and smart mobility solutions.
EV World 2026 will take place from November 10–12, 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
