Maranello’s first fully electric Ferrari debuts with 1,050 cv, over 530 km of range, ultra-fast charging and a futuristic five-seat grand tourer design created with Jonathan Ive’s LoveFrom

Famed Italian sportscar manufacturer Ferrari has unveiled the all-new Ferrari Luce, marking the marque’s first fully electric production car and one of the most significant moments in its modern history. Revealed in Rome at the symbolic Vela di Calatrava venue, the Luce ushers in a new era for the Prancing Horse by combining fully electric mobility with Ferrari’s traditional focus on performance, emotion and engineering excellence.

New era begins

Ferrari isn’t positioning the Luce as merely an electric Ferrari; the company describes it as an entirely new kind of Ferrari. Developed as part of Ferrari’s multi-energy strategy first announced in 2022, the Luce expands the brand’s lineup alongside its combustion and hybrid models while opening new possibilities in design, architecture and performance. Ferrari says the project incorporates more than 60 new patents.

Ferrari collaborated with LoveFrom, the creative collective led by Apple design legend Jonathan Ive and Marc Newson, introducing a cleaner, more futuristic and minimalist design language that remains sporty yet markedly different from traditional Ferrari styling.

Exterior styling

The all-electric platform gives the Luce an entirely new silhouette with four doors and five seats, making it Ferrari’s first true five-seat model and only its second four-door production car after the Ferrari Purosangue. Measuring 5,026 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and riding on a 2,961 mm wheelbase, the Luce combines grand touring proportions with a low, sculpted stance and a shell-like glasshouse that stretches below the beltline to create a futuristic, highly aerodynamic appearance.

Aerodynamics played a central role in shaping the car, with floating front and rear wings, smooth uninterrupted surfaces and active aerodynamic grilles contributing to what Ferrari claims is the lowest drag coefficient ever achieved by one of its road cars.

The Luce also debuts Ferrari’s largest production wheel setup yet, measuring 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear, while halo-style tail lights pay tribute to icons such as the Ferrari 360 Modena and Ferrari 458 Italia.

High-tech cabin

Inside, the Luce is a whole new world, marking a dramatic departure from traditional Ferrari cabins. The Luce’s radically new interior blends tactile analogue controls with advanced digital technology, prioritising simplicity and engagement through machined aluminium switches, physical buttons and OLED displays developed with Samsung Display.

The retro-inspired thin-rim steering wheel incorporates Ferrari’s iconic Manettino alongside a new e-Manettino for controlling power delivery and range settings, while large torque-control paddles allow drivers to manually adjust power delivery and regenerative braking for a more engaging driving experience.

Luxury remains a major focus. The cabin uses recycled anodised aluminium, premium leather and Corning Gorilla Glass, while a bespoke 21-speaker, 3,000-watt Ferrari Audio Signature system delivers immersive sound. Ferrari also claims the Luce is its most comfortable model yet thanks to extensive NVH development and elastically mounted subframes.

Performance focus

Power for Ferrari’s first electric vehicle comes from a sophisticated four-motor electric drivetrain, with one motor powering each wheel. Combined output stands at 1,050 cv and 11,500 Nm of wheel torque, enabling the Luce to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. It is also claimed to achieve a top speed of over 310 km/h.

A 122 kWh battery operating on an 800-volt architecture supports charging speeds of up to 350 kW while delivering more than 530 km of range.

Ferrari says advanced torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, active suspension derived from the Ferrari F80, and a new Vehicle Control Unit ensure the Luce retains unmistakable Ferrari handling characteristics despite its electric architecture.

Authentic EV sound

Rather than relying on artificial sound effects, Ferrari developed an authentic sound philosophy that amplifies the natural harmonics and vibrations generated by the drivetrain itself.

Pricing

With its combination of extreme performance, ultra-fast charging, grand touring comfort and everyday usability, the Ferrari Luce appears designed not only to redefine Ferrari’s future, but also to broaden the appeal of electric performance cars in markets such as the UAE and wider GCC.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed, though it is speculated that the Luce could cost between EUR 450,000 and EUR 600,000+, translating to roughly AED 1.8 million to AED 2.4 million+ before options in the UAE. With this level of performance, exclusivity and technology, the Luce could potentially give Ferrari’s own petrol-powered and hybrid models a run for their money, let alone products from rival manufacturers.
