Nissan Motor India has unveiled the all-new Nissan Tekton at its global premiere in India, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s resurgence strategy in the market. Positioned as a premium C-SUV, the Tekton is Nissan’s second launch in India in 2026 and a key part of its SUV-focused growth plan. Manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai facility under the “One Car, One World” strategy, the Tekton is designed for both domestic and international markets. The model is expected to be exported to regions including the Middle East and Africa, although confirmation for GCC markets has not yet been announced.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Nissan Patrol, the Tekton carries forward Nissan’s SUV design heritage into a more compact and urban-focused segment.
The exterior features a full-width chrome grille, C-shaped five-chamber LED headlamps, sculpted body lines and pronounced wheel arches. Additional highlights include aero-tuned spoilers, flush roof rails and a dual-tone skid plate.
At the rear, the SUV gets SynchroFlow C-shaped connected LED tail lamps and a piano-black “Majestic Himalayan Crest” design element, reinforcing its rugged and premium identity.
Inside, the Tekton blends comfort and craftsmanship with leatherette upholstery, soft-touch materials and a tri-tone interior finished in beige, burgundy and rose-gold accents.
The driver-focused cabin features a wraparound dashboard, dual digital displays, a double D-cut steering wheel and a Fly-by-Wire E-shifter. Available Active Comfort Seats offer powered adjustment, ventilation, lumbar support and adjustable headrests.
Practicality is a key highlight, with 212 mm ground clearance, strong outward visibility and up to 700 litres of boot space, positioning it among the most spacious SUVs in its class.
The Tekton is powered by a fully turbocharged petrol range, including Turbo T160 and Turbo T280 engines.
The T280 produces up to 163 PS and 280 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed wet-clutch DCT or a 6-speed manual transmission. The T160 is tuned for efficiency and everyday usability.
Nissan claims fuel efficiency figures of 19.4 km/l for the T160 and 18.5 km/l for the T280. Both engines feature GT-R-inspired Mirror Bore Coating technology, aimed at reducing friction and improving performance.
The SUV also includes Dual-Drive Mode, Dual-Mode Steering and tuned suspension with dual anti-roll bars for improved ride quality and handling.
Technology plays a central role in the Tekton. The SUV features a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Google built-in, alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
With Google integration, users get native access to Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play, supporting more than 200 apps and personalised account syncing.
Additional features include 55+ connected car functions via the MyNISSAN App, an Infinity View panoramic sunroof, voice-assisted dual-zone climate control, 48-colour ambient lighting and an Arkamys 3D sound system.
Other highlights include a wireless charger with cooling, a smart air purifier with Plasmacluster ioniser and an AQI display.
The Tekton is equipped with a wide range of convenience and safety features, including a powered tailgate, Intelligent Access with approach unlock and walkaway lock, and a 360-degree parking system with 3D Around View Monitor.
Safety includes six airbags as standard, over 40 safety features and a high-strength steel monocoque structure for improved protection.
The SUV also offers more than 17 ADAS features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition.
Introductory pricing for the Nissan Tekton in India starts at INR 10.49 lakh for the Visia T160 MT and goes up to INR 18.59 lakh for the Tekna+ T280 DCT.
The T160 manual range begins at INR 10.49 lakh, while both T280 manual and DCT variants start at INR 14.99 lakh. This translates to approximately AED 40,400 to AED 71,700 based on current exchange rates.
These prices apply only to the Indian market. Pricing, specifications and variant details for export markets, including the Middle East, are yet to be confirmed.
Senior executives at Nissan described the Tekton as a critical model in the company’s SUV-led comeback strategy, designed to combine global engineering with local market relevance.
