As one of the key models behind VinFast’s global expansion, the VinFast VF 8 EV has officially made its global debut with a series of notable upgrades across design, technology and driving dynamics. The electric SUV now adopts the brand’s new “Tech Fluid” design philosophy, while introducing a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture, improved suspension setup and a claimed driving range of up to 500 km.
Built around the Tech Fluid design language, the VinFast VF 8 evolves its predecessor’s look with smoother surfaces and sharper detailing. Measuring 4,701 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height, with a 2,840 mm wheelbase, the five-seater offers a balanced mix of practicality and road presence.
Key design elements include a gloss-black grille, signature wing-shaped LED daytime running lights, large air intakes and sculpted bodywork. A floating roof effect, created by the blacked-out C-pillar, adds a modern touch, while the rear features minimalist styling with V-shaped LED-linked taillights. With 170 mm ground clearance and 19-inch turbine-style wheels, the electric crossover SUV is clearly built for versatility.
Inside, the VinFast VF 8 interior follows a clean, tech-focused layout. A 12.9-inch touchscreen takes centre stage, supported by a compact driver display and a two-spoke steering wheel. The gear selector is mounted on the steering column, helping free up space in the centre console.
Features include dual-zone climate control, air ionisation, a Combi 1.0 air filter, power-adjustable front seats with memory and reclining rear seats. A multilingual virtual assistant and an eight-speaker sound system round off the in-car technology experience.
The new VinFast VF 8 EV is built on an updated chassis equipped with Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD) on both axles. This allows the suspension to adapt to varying road conditions, improving ride comfort and stability.
A major highlight is the new SDV electrical architecture, powered by a Central Vehicle Computer (CVC), which enables faster processing and improved vehicle response. This move positions the VF 8 firmly within the next-generation smart EV category.
Power comes from a front-wheel-drive electric motor producing 170 kW (228 hp) and 330 Nm of torque. Drivers can switch between Eco, Normal and Sport modes depending on driving conditions.
The 60.13 kWh battery delivers a claimed NEDC range of up to 500 km, while fast charging allows the battery to go from 10% to 70% in under 30 minutes. The system also includes VinFast’s Integrated Thermal Management (ITM) technology, designed to optimise battery performance and efficiency across different conditions.
The VinFast VF 8 safety package includes a full suite of ADAS features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Highway Assist and a 360-degree camera system. The SUV has been developed with ASEAN NCAP five-star safety standards in mind.
Pre-orders for the VinFast VF 8 EV open on May 27, 2026, with prices starting from VND 999 million (approximately AED 141,000). The model comes with a seven-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty. Deliveries are expected to begin in July 2026.
While the current VF 8 available in Dubai features larger batteries and dual-motor AWD setups, VinFast has yet to confirm GCC specifications and pricing for the new-generation model.
