McLaren has confirmed that final orders for the 750S are now being accepted, with production ending in 2027, marking a decade since the introduction of its predecessor, the 720S

Supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive has announced that production of the McLaren 750S will end in 2027, bringing to a close a decade of lightweight V8 supercars that began with the launch of the McLaren 720S in 2017. McLaren has confirmed that final orders are now being accepted for the 750S, introduced in 2023 as the successor to the 720S. The platform also underpinned the track-focused McLaren 765LT and the recently revealed 788HS, completing a lineage recognised for its performance, engineering, design and bespoke personalisation.

A decade of lightweight V8 performance

Introduced in 2017, the McLaren 720S established a new generation of McLaren supercars through its lightweight construction, V8 powertrain and advanced aerodynamics. The platform subsequently gave rise to multiple award-winning road cars and race-winning machinery in international GT racing and the World Endurance Championship.

The McLaren 750S built on that foundation when it arrived in 2023, featuring approximately 30% new or revised components compared with the 720S.

Producing 750 PS and weighing just 1,277 kg dry, the 750S delivered greater power, reduced weight and improved performance, alongside new technologies and a more driver-focused cabin.

The platform also supported limited-production derivatives, including the McLaren 765LT and the newly revealed 788HS. The latter will be limited to 200 examples, with each car commissioned through McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

Bespoke personalisation and legacy

McLaren Special Operations continues to offer 750S customers extensive personalisation options, including bespoke specifications and one-off commissions tailored to individual preferences.

Notable MSO creations include the McLaren 750S with the 3-7-59 Theme and Project Viva, demonstrating the scope of customisation available through the company's bespoke division.

The McLaren 720S, 750S and 765LT have collectively received numerous automotive awards. The 720S was named Top Gear Performance Car of the Year in 2017 and World Performance Car at the 2019 World Car Awards, while the 750S received Top Gear Performance Car of the Year in 2024 and multiple other honours through 2026. The 765LT has also earned recognition from automotive publications and performance-car awards.

“The 750S represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar: benchmark performance, thrilling driver engagement, technical innovation, expressive design, and defined personalisation. It will leave behind an extraordinary legacy,” said Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive.
