The Filipino automaker’s first electric passenger vehicle offers three battery options, up to 600 km of estimated range and prices starting at ₱1.947 million.

Francisco Motors has entered the electric passenger-car market with the Elektron, a five-door compact crossover offering up to 600 km of estimated driving range. The launch marks a major shift for the Filipino manufacturer, which was founded in 1947 and is best known for producing jeepneys and commercial vehicles.

Three variants offered

The Elektron is available in Basic, Fashion and Deluxe specifications.

The entry-level Basic uses a single electric motor and 54.9 kWh battery, providing an estimated 400 km of range and a 160 km/h top speed.

The Fashion retains the single-motor setup but increases battery capacity to 63 kWh, extending estimated range to 500 km while maintaining the same maximum speed.

The flagship Deluxe combines dual motors, all-wheel drive and an 81.5 kWh battery, delivering an estimated 600 km of range and a claimed 180 km/h top speed. Francisco Motors has not specified the testing cycle used for the quoted range figures.

Digital cabin and 450-litre boot

The cabin features a digital instrument display, central touchscreen and rotary controller. Depending on the grade, equipment includes wireless charging, USB-C ports, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, electrically adjustable front seats and a fixed panoramic roof.

Audio systems range from four speakers in the Basic to nine in the Fashion and ten in the Deluxe. Boot capacity is rated at 450 litres.

Slim front LED lighting and a full-width rear light bar give the Elektron a contemporary appearance.

Safety and charging

Standard safety features include electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, emergency brake assist, an acoustic pedestrian warning system, keyless entry and push-button start.

Available driver assistance includes a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and front and rear collision alerts.

CCS2 fast charging is supported, with a quoted charging time of approximately 30 minutes, although the starting and finishing battery percentages were not disclosed.

The Elektron is covered by a warranty of up to eight years or 150,000 km, whichever comes first.

Pricing and availability

Prices start at ₱1,947,000, equivalent to approximately $31,600 or AED 115,900, with orders handled through Founder Orbit.

The Elektron enters a competitive Philippine EV market dominated by imported models from brands including BYD, GAC Aion, MG, Chery and Geely, while positioning itself as a Filipino-developed alternative.
