Mercedes-Benz has revealed the updated C-Class Saloon and Estate, calling it the most extensive technical upgrade in the model’s history. The update covers exterior design, cabin technology, powertrains, chassis tuning and driver assistance systems. European orders open on 18 August 2026, while US deliveries are expected in the first half of 2027.
The refreshed C-Class features a redesigned radiator grille with an LED light strip around its frame, while the Mercedes-Benz star can also be illuminated depending on specification and market.
New headlights introduce a star-shaped daytime running light signature, while the Saloon receives matching star-inspired graphics in the rear lighting.
Additional exterior updates include revised bumpers, new wheel designs ranging from 17 to 19 inches, and two new paint finishes: Lavender Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic.
An AMG Line Plus package is also available for the first time, adding the Night Package, sports seats, red stitching and red seatbelts.
The updated C-Class runs on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), enabling over-the-air updates and expanded digital services.
Its fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system integrates artificial intelligence from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini, allowing the virtual assistant to handle multi-step, conversational queries with contextual awareness.
Navigation is powered by Google Maps, with optional augmented reality guidance projecting directions into the driver’s view.
Inside, the cabin retains a 12.3-inch digital driver display and an 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen, while a redesigned steering wheel brings back physical controls for key functions.
Available features also include multi-contour massage seats and a 15-speaker, 710-watt Burmester 3D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos.
The C-Class range continues with petrol and diesel engines featuring 48-volt mild-hybrid technology and a second-generation integrated starter-generator delivering up to 17 kW and 205 Nm of assistance.
Engines have been updated for upcoming Euro 7 emissions regulations.
C 200: 177 hp
C 300: up to 258 hp and 400 Nm
For the US market, the C 300 produces 255 hp and 295 lb-ft (around 400 Nm), with mild-hybrid boost adding up to 27 hp for short bursts.
The C 400 e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, producing up to 395 hp and 650 Nm.
Its 19.53 kWh battery delivers up to 100 km of electric range (WLTP).
Charging supports up to 11 kW AC and 55 kW DC fast charging, making it one of the more capable plug-in systems in its segment.
Mercedes-Benz has refined suspension and damping to improve body control while maintaining long-distance comfort.
Optional rear-wheel steering can turn the rear wheels by up to 2.5 degrees, reducing the turning circle by 43 cm to 10.64 metres at low speeds and improving stability at higher speeds by turning in the same direction as the front wheels.
The optional next-generation DIGITAL LIGHT system uses micro-LED technology, increasing illuminated surface area by around 40% while reducing energy consumption by up to 50%.
Advanced driver assistance systems use up to 10 cameras, five radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors, enabling features such as lane-change assist, automated parking and route-retrace reversing in specific conditions.
The C-Class Estate offers 490 litres of boot space, expanding to 1,510 litres with the 40:20:40 split rear seats folded.
An EASY-PACK electric tailgate is standard.
