Mahindra has unveiled the production-ready Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, a new global midsize lifestyle truck that will launch in India by April 2027 before expanding to the Middle East, Australia, South Africa and Latin America.

Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled the production-ready Scorpio Lifestyler, the production version of the Global Pik Up concept first presented in Cape Town, South Africa, in August 2023. The new pickup will be sold as the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler in India and as the Mahindra Lifestyler in international markets. The India launch is scheduled by April 2027, with prices expected to start below ₹19.79 lakh ex-showroom, equivalent to approximately $20,700 or AED 76,000 at current exchange rates.

Designed and engineered in India

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler was designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio in Mumbai and developed at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai.

It uses Mahindra’s next-generation body-on-frame platform and has been engineered to combine pickup-truck capability with durability, safety, technology and improved everyday refinement.

Mahindra describes the new pickup as being designed for both “payload and playload”, targeting customers who want traditional pickup practicality alongside adventure capability and SUV-like comfort.

Full details on the engine, dimensions, payload capacity, towing capability and equipment are yet to be announced.

Three distinct editions

Mahindra showcased the Scorpio Lifestyler in three different design expressions:

  • Valley Edition: Finished in Artemis Grey, combining work-oriented practicality with comfort and refinement.

  • Reef Edition: Finished in Aquareef and designed for customers focused on outdoor activities and exploration.

  • Trail Edition: Finished in Sahara Beige, with a more adventurous character inspired by desert landscapes.

Targeting the Middle East and other global markets

The Mahindra Lifestyler has been developed as a global pickup from the beginning, with the company targeting several international markets.

Planned regions include Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, other African markets, the Middle East and Latin America, placing the new Mahindra pickup in the increasingly competitive midsize lifestyle-truck segment.

Development has focused on meeting international safety and engineering standards while combining advanced technology, premium refinement and versatility for work, leisure and everyday driving.

For the Middle East, Mahindra has confirmed the region as a target market, although specific GCC launch dates, specifications and pricing have not yet been announced.

Body-on-frame capability

The Scorpio Lifestyler’s next-generation body-on-frame architecture is designed to provide the durability and toughness expected from a pickup while improving refinement and everyday usability.

Mahindra is positioning the vehicle beyond the traditional commercial pickup, targeting customers who increasingly use midsize trucks for family travel, recreation, outdoor activities and adventure.

The company is also preparing its dealer network and ownership experience in India ahead of the pickup’s market introduction.

Launch by April 2027

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler will launch in India by April 2027, with pricing expected to remain below ₹19.79 lakh ex-showroom, equivalent to approximately $20,700 or AED 76,000.

In international markets, the pickup will be sold simply as the Mahindra Lifestyler. Further details covering its powertrains, dimensions, payload, towing capacity, equipment, Middle East launch timing and GCC pricing are expected to be revealed closer to its market launch.
