The international Formula 1 circuit and Emirates Motor Company have partnered to create a long-term Mercedes-AMG driving platform in Abu Dhabi, headlined by the 577hp AMG GT 63 Coupé

If you’re an AMG fan, this is the kind of news you’ve probably been waiting for. Yas Marina Circuit has teamed up with Emirates Motor Company to roll out a dedicated Mercedes-AMG driving experience and it’s not just a short-term thing. The idea here is to build something long-lasting. Instead of a one-off event or seasonal activation, this partnership is about creating a permanent AMG presence at Yas Marina Circuit, giving people regular access to performance driving in a proper track environment.

A long-term vision

What stands out is that this isn’t being treated like a typical brand collaboration. The Mercedes-AMG driving experience Abu Dhabi is being built into the circuit’s year-round offering, with its own fleet and structured programmes.

That means whether it’s corporate groups, car enthusiasts, or just someone curious about performance driving, there’s going to be a consistent way to get involved.

It also ties into a bigger shift at Yas Marina Circuit moving beyond standalone events and becoming a place where automotive brands can create ongoing experiences that people can come back to.

Mercedes-AMG takes centre stage

The first major step is the launch of the Mercedes-AMG Driving Experience UAE, now part of the DriveYAS lineup.

At the centre of it all is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupé. It’s powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, putting out 577 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque serious numbers by any standard.

But what really matters is how it feels on track. With 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h, it’s the kind of car that finally makes sense when you’re driving it where it belongs, not stuck in city traffic.

The experience runs out of Yas Central and uses the same layout as the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit. With instructors guiding the sessions, drivers can push the car properly while still staying within a safe, controlled setup.

There’s also a passenger option, which is a good entry point if you just want to feel what the car can do before getting behind the wheel yourself.

Bringing AMG closer to customers

For Mercedes-AMG, this is about more than visibility. It’s about letting people actually experience the brand instead of just seeing it.

Selvin Govender, representing Mercedes-Benz in the region, pointed out that AMG really comes alive on track and honestly, that’s hard to argue with.

This kind of setup makes it easier for people to connect with the brand in a real way, especially as competition in the performance segment keeps growing.

Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s motorsport appeal

From a bigger picture perspective, this adds another layer to Abu Dhabi’s motorsport scene. The Yas Marina Circuit driving experience portfolio was already strong, and this just builds on it.

Alongside AMG, you’ve got experiences with cars like Aston Martin GT4, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Caterham Seven and Ferrari models each offering something completely different on the same track.

Adding AMG into that mix makes the lineup feel more complete and gives enthusiasts even more reason to keep coming back.

Final thoughts

What makes this interesting is how practical it is. It’s not a one-time event, it’s something you can actually plan around and revisit.

For anyone interested in a Mercedes-AMG track experience, this is probably one of the most straightforward ways to try it properly on a real Formula 1 circuit, not a closed-off demo area.

So the question is are you driving first, or taking the passenger ride to test your nerves?
