McLaren has revealed the Artura 1000GP by MSO, a rare special edition limited to just 10 cars globally, marking the brand’s 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix with a Monaco-inspired design and bespoke detailing.

McLaren Automotive has unveiled an ultra-limited Artura 1000GP edition developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) to celebrate McLaren Racing’s 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix start at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix. With only 10 customer cars set to be produced worldwide, the model highlights one of the most significant milestones in the team’s racing history and is expected to become one of the most collectible modern McLarens.

Monaco-inspired design

The Artura 1000GP takes inspiration from the distinctive livery used on the McLaren MCL40 Formula 1 car driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri during the Monaco Grand Prix. Each car is hand-finished by MSO, featuring a bold 1000GP graphic across the bonnet, lower body panels and wing mirrors, along with heritage-style pinstriping on the front splitter and rear diffuser. Inside, an anodised metallic papaya plaque serves as a reminder of McLaren Racing’s landmark achievement.

A tribute to racing legacy

The special edition honours McLaren’s journey since its founding in 1963 by Bruce McLaren, whose vision centred on innovation and performance. Over more than six decades, McLaren Racing has built a legacy that includes 10 Constructors’ World Championships and more than 200 race wins. The 1,000 Grand Prix milestone places the team among an elite group in Formula 1 history.

Why this car matters

Beyond its exclusivity, the Artura 1000GP represents McLaren’s transition into an electrified future. As a next-generation hybrid supercar, it combines Formula 1-inspired engineering with everyday usability, making it relevant not just for collectors but also as a showcase of the brand’s future direction.

Hybrid performance and engineering

Powering the Artura 1000GP is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor and a 7.4 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 700 PS and 720 Nm. The setup is paired with an eight-speed Seamless Shift Gearbox driving the rear wheels, while lightweight construction keeps dry weight at 1,395kg. Performance figures include 0–100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h, with up to 33 km of pure electric driving capability.
