Famed television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, with the disclosure made during the latest season of Clarkson's Farm. The announcement was shown in the final episodes of Season 5, which were released on June 17, where Clarkson, aged 66, confirmed that the cancer was detected at an early stage and that he had undergone surgery following the diagnosis.
The diagnosis was captured on camera during filming, where Clarkson informed farm manager Charlie Ireland and farmhand Kaleb Cooper while discussing the farming season.
According to Clarkson, the condition was identified after medical tests and a biopsy carried out in May. He described the cancer as “aggressive” but confirmed it was caught early enough for effective treatment.
Doctors reportedly removed around 10% of his prostate during surgery, targeting the affected area.
Clarkson stated that early diagnosis played a crucial role in his recovery, saying it may have ultimately saved his life.
The presenter used the series to highlight the importance of prostate cancer screening and early detection, particularly among older men.
The cancer diagnosis follows another serious health issue in 2024, when Clarkson underwent treatment after doctors discovered severe blockages in two arteries.
He previously revealed that he had been close to suffering a heart attack before receiving medical intervention.
Reflecting on both health scares, Clarkson noted that he began the year dealing with heart disease and ended it facing cancer treatment, though he remained optimistic about recovery.
The final episodes of Clarkson’s Farm take a more emotional tone, documenting Clarkson’s hospital treatment and recovery journey.
The season concludes with Clarkson expressing hope that treatment has been successful and stating his desire to return for a sixth season if health permits.
Clarkson’s revelation has led to widespread public support, with many praising him for raising awareness about one of the most common cancers affecting men.
Throughout the series, he emphasised the importance of regular health checks and early diagnosis for prostate cancer.
