BYD’s global bestseller gets sharper design, longer wheelbase, up to 327 PS output, and advanced Blade Battery with FLASH Charging technology
One of BYD’s most successful global models, the Yuan PLUS (known as BYD ATTO 3 in the Middle East), continues to be a major global sales driver, with more than 1.1 million units sold across 116 markets. At the Beijing Auto Show 2026, BYD unveiled the third-generation BYD ATTO 3, bringing a more refined design, improved space, and next-generation electric vehicle technology including FLASH Charging, God’s Eye B, and LiDAR-assisted driver assistance systems.
Exterior Design
The third-generation BYD Yuan PLUS (ATTO 3) measures 4,665 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a 2,770 mm wheelbase, making it longer and more proportionate than the outgoing model. The design follows a more aerodynamic EV styling language, with a clearer focus on efficiency and visual balance.
A city skyline-inspired character line runs along the sides, while the redesigned D-pillar creates a floating roof effect, giving the SUV a more dynamic stance. The updated semi-concealed door handles improve aerodynamics, and the rear design features a more premium look with a three-dimensional LED lighting signature and an illuminated BYD badge styled as an energy-inspired emblem. The SUV is offered with 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels, completing its modern stance.
Interior Design
Inside, the new BYD ATTO 3 cabin combines a sport-inspired layout with home-like comfort, creating a more lifestyle-focused interior experience. A redesigned two-spoke steering wheel integrates concave tactile controls and the gear selector for a cleaner cockpit layout.
A large panoramic glass roof enhances natural light, making the cabin feel more open and spacious. Practicality remains strong, with 39 storage compartments, a 750-litre boot space, and a 180-litre powered front trunk (frunk) designed for everyday convenience.
Features & Technology
The third-generation ATTO 3 introduces a more advanced technology package, including 256-colour ambient lighting, a premium 16-speaker sound system, and a front passenger seat with extended recline function for long-distance comfort.
Additional highlights include an onboard refrigerator, 50W wireless fast charging, and 60W USB Type-C fast charging, positioning the SUV strongly in the smart electric crossover segment.
Powertrain & Performance
The BYD Yuan PLUS (ATTO 3 EV) continues with a rear-wheel-drive electric powertrain, offering two output levels: 272 PS (200 kW) and up to 327 PS (240 kW). Power comes from BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, available in 57.5 kWh and 68.5 kWh variants.
The model also supports FLASH Charging technology, which BYD describes as “ready in 5, full in 9”, significantly improving charging speed for daily usability. The claimed CLTC range stands at up to 540 km and 630 km, depending on battery size.
Ride quality is supported by a MacPherson front suspension, a five-link rear setup, and DiSus-C intelligent damping system, enhancing both comfort and stability.
The new ATTO 3 has been hugely popular and is highly anticipated in this region. However, technical details and the rollout timeline for the range in the Middle East are yet to be announced.
