The refreshed Škoda Kushaq has officially launched in the UAE automotive market and is now available for purchase through Ali & Sons showrooms across the country. The first units arrived in UAE showrooms last week, marking the latest update to Škoda’s compact SUV lineup for the region. The updated first-generation Škoda Kushaq is offered in three variants, Ambition, Style and Monte Carlo with UAE pricing set at AED 69,500, AED 79,500 and AED 83,500 respectively.

Refreshed design and exterior upgrades

The refreshed Škoda Kushaq features updated exterior styling aligned with Škoda’s latest design language, including revised LED headlights and a more defined front grille design. Higher trims feature an illuminated light strip integrated into the grille for a more premium appearance.

At the rear, the SUV gets LED taillights with sequential indicators and illuminated Škoda lettering for improved visibility and brand identity. The Ambition variant is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the Style and Monte Carlo trims feature larger 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Monte Carlo variant adds sportier styling elements, including red grille accents, gloss-black exterior detailing, dual-tone roof styling, black roof rails, a gloss-black rear diffuser, a dual-tone spoiler and Monte Carlo-specific badging. The roof rails support up to 50 kg of load capacity.

Colour options include Carbon Steel, Lava Blue, Deep Black, Candy White, Reflex Silver, Cherry Red, Shimla Green and Steel Grey, with select dual-tone combinations available on the Monte Carlo variant.

Cabin, infotainment and interior features

Inside, the refreshed Kushaq comes with an 8.25-inch infotainment system across all variants, supporting both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is paired with a six-speaker audio setup, USB-C ports at the front and rear, and a 12V socket.

Higher trims include a 15W wireless charging pad with active cooling for improved smartphone usability in hot climates such as the UAE.

The Ambition variant features fabric upholstery and a multifunction instrument cluster, while higher trims add a digital driver display, leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, footwell illumination and a panoramic sunroof.

The Monte Carlo variant enhances the cabin further with black-and-grey perforated leatherette seats, red contrast stitching, red dashboard accents, aluminium pedals and a sport-themed interior finish.

Additional convenience features include automatic climate control with AirCare, rear AC vents, cruise control, paddle shifters, electrically folding mirrors, a reversing camera and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat configuration. Higher variants also offer KESSY keyless entry, push-start ignition, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and front parking sensors.

115 hp turbo engine with new 8-speed automatic

All UAE-spec Škoda Kushaq variants are powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 85 kW (115 hp) and 178 Nm of torque.

Power is delivered to the front wheels through a newly introduced 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, replacing the previous gearbox setup and improving refinement and drivability in urban and highway conditions.

The SUV has a claimed top speed of 186 km/h and delivers an official GSO-rated fuel efficiency of 17.3 km/l. Suspension setup includes MacPherson struts at the front and a rear twist-beam axle, with disc brakes at the front, drum brakes at the rear, and electro-mechanical power steering.

Dimensions, space and practicality

The Škoda Kushaq measures 4,229 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,612 mm in height, with a 2,651 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance stands at 155 mm, making it suitable for urban roads and light off-road conditions in the UAE.

The SUV seats five passengers and features a 50-litre fuel tank. Kerb weight ranges between 1,270 kg and 1,300 kg depending on the variant.

Boot space varies by configuration, with capacities of 385 litres, expanding up to 491 litres and a maximum of 1,405 litres with rear seats folded.

Safety and driver protection

The refreshed Kushaq continues to focus on safety, featuring a 5-star safety rating and a strong suite of active and passive safety systems.

Standard and available features include electronic stability control (ESC), multi-collision braking, XDS and XDS+ electronic differential systems, traction control, rollover protection, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

Higher variants are equipped with six airbags for enhanced occupant protection.

The Škoda Kushaq in the UAE is also offered with the Škoda Advantage ownership package, which includes:

  • 5 years free service

  • 5 years manufacturer warranty

  • 5 years roadside assistance

  • 5-star Euro NCAP / Global NCAP safety rating assurance
