Al-Futtaim Toyota launches the ninth-generation 2027 Toyota Hilux in the UAE, featuring a redesigned exterior, upgraded technology, two engine options and six 4WD variants priced from AED 107,900

Al-Futtaim Toyota has launched the ninth-generation 2027 Toyota Hilux in the UAE, with prices starting at AED 107,900 for the entry-level single-cab variant. The latest generation combines the pickup’s established durability and practicality with updated styling, enhanced cabin technology and improved comfort. Since its introduction in 1968, the Toyota Hilux has built a reputation for reliability across commercial applications, including construction, agriculture and transport. It has also evolved into a lifestyle pickup for buyers seeking everyday usability and off-road capability. The new model continues that approach with six variants, including the adventure-focused Overland.

Exterior Design: A tougher, more contemporary Hilux

The 2027 Toyota Hilux measures 5,320 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,795 mm in height, with a 3,085 mm wheelbase and 312 mm of ground clearance.

Developed around Toyota’s Tough and Agile design philosophy, the new Hilux retains its functional pickup proportions while introducing a more assertive front end, a prominent grille, sculpted bodywork and slim LED headlights. New exterior colour options include Ash and Sulfur Metallic, while selected variants receive alloy wheels and additional styling details.

At the top of the range, the Hilux Overland targets buyers who want a more adventure-oriented pickup. It features a distinctive front bumper, wide black wheel-arch extensions, 18-inch black alloy wheels, side steps, additional cargo-bed steps and underbody engine protection.

Engine, performance and off-Road capability

The 2027 Toyota Hilux UAE range offers two four-cylinder engine options. The 2.7-litre petrol engine produces 164 hp and 245 Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.8-litre turbo-diesel develops 201 hp and 500 Nm, matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

All six variants come with four-wheel drive and an 80-litre fuel tank. Toyota’s claimed fuel-efficiency figures range from 10 to 10.1 km/l for petrol models and reach 13.9 km/l for diesel versions.

The suspension setup comprises independent double wishbones with coil springs at the front and a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear. The Overland receives softer rear leaf springs, while increased body rigidity, revised engine and cabin mounts, and electric power steering are intended to improve ride comfort, handling and stability across different driving conditions.

With 312 mm of ground clearance and four-wheel-drive capability across the range, the Hilux continues to cater to buyers who need a pickup for demanding work environments as well as outdoor driving.

Interior: More technology and everyday comfort

Inside, the redesigned cabin combines a practical layout with updated infotainment and convenience features. Depending on the variant, the Hilux is equipped with an 8-inch or 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available across the range, while wireless connectivity is offered on selected grades.

Higher-specification variants add a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, wireless charging, an eight-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, smart entry, push-button start and an electronic parking brake.

Buyers can choose between single-cab and double-cab configurations. Single-cab models offer three seats and a 2,350 mm cargo bed, while double-cab versions accommodate five occupants and feature a 1,555 mm cargo bed. Equipment and interior specifications vary according to the selected grade.

Safety and driver assistance

The 2027 Toyota Hilux comes with essential safety equipment, including dual front airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, a tyre-pressure warning system and emergency calling.

The flagship Overland adds Toyota Safety Sense 3, which includes a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist and Automatic High Beam.

Further equipment includes a panoramic view monitor, Multi-Terrain Select, a rear differential lock, Blind Spot Monitor, Safe Exit Assist and parking sensors. The availability of selected driver-assistance, convenience and off-road features depends on the variant.
