2026 Cadillac Escalade-V

The bullet-fast version of Cadillac’s high-profile luxury SUV combines a mighty 691 PS supercharged V8 with a giant 55-inch display, power-operated doors and first-class comfort. It is not merely big; it is the king of big.

Launched in 1999 as Cadillac’s answer to the Lincoln Navigator, the Escalade has evolved far beyond a traditional full-size SUV. Across five generations, it has become a global icon, frequently seen in celebrity fleets, VIP motorcades and luxury car collections. We tested the standard-wheelbase 2026 Cadillac Escalade-V in the UAE, priced from AED 663,700. Its hand-built supercharged V8 transforms this three-row luxury SUV into a performance machine with supercar-level acceleration.

Exterior design

The Escalade-V is not merely large; it is colossal. Its upright proportions, enormous body and bold surfaces create an imposing, almost monolithic road presence. Yet it blends luxury SUV elegance with muscular performance, looking equally at home carrying VIPs, executives or high-profile guests.

Our test vehicle’s greenish-grey paint allowed its details to stand out clearly, while the V-Series treatment replaces much of the chrome with a black-painted grille and darker exterior accents, giving the Cadillac Escalade-V 2026 a more aggressive and premium appearance.

It looks even more striking at night, when the illuminated Cadillac crest, grille surround and choreographed lighting animation bring the front end to life. At the rear, four black exhaust outlets deliver a deep supercharged V8 rumble whenever the throttle is applied.

Its 24-inch wheels are the largest ever fitted to an Escalade and among the biggest seen on any production luxury SUV. They are wrapped in wide 285/40 R24 Bridgestone tyres and paired with red brake calipers typically seen on high-performance sports cars.

Electrically retractable side steps add both convenience and luxury, making it easier for passengers of all ages to enter and exit this large SUV.

Interior design

The Escalade-V’s cabin exudes luxury, combining premium materials, detailed craftsmanship and exceptional interior space. The highlight is the curved 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display, divided into three sections, with a privacy filter ensuring the passenger screen does not distract the driver.

The cabin features leather upholstery, satin-finished metal trim, gloss carbon fibre and soft-touch surfaces, creating a refined yet performance-focused atmosphere expected from a luxury SUV in the UAE.

A thick two-spoke steering wheel places key controls within easy reach, while the column-mounted gear selector frees up space on the centre console. A secondary touchscreen handles climate functions and power-operated doors.

Rear passengers benefit from generous space, with captain’s chairs in the second row providing easy access to a usable third row. The cabin also includes multiple storage areas, cupholders and flexible seating configurations for added practicality.

Powertrain and performance

The 2026 Cadillac Escalade-V is powered by a hand-built 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine producing 691 PS and 885 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through a 10-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive and an electronic limited-slip differential.

Performance is remarkable for a full-size SUV, with 0–100 km/h achieved in a claimed 4.6 seconds. Acceleration is immediate, with strong low-end torque and effortless high-speed performance.

The supercharged V8 delivers a deep, aggressive soundtrack, making it one of the best-sounding performance SUVs currently available. A dedicated V-Mode allows the driver to customise settings for the powertrain, suspension, steering and exhaust.

Ride, handling & economy

Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control deliver an exceptionally smooth ride, filtering out bumps so effectively that passengers may barely notice them. Six-piston Brembo front brakes with 410 mm rotors, supported by 345 mm rear discs, provide the stopping power needed to contain its considerable mass and performance, although emergency stops are not entirely drama-free.

Its colossal dimensions and relatively soft suspension demand caution in tight spaces. On the highway, it feels like an enormous mass of metal sweeping between lanes, sometimes intimidating neighbouring vehicles and their drivers.

The Escalade-V remains composed when driven briskly, but rapid direction changes reveal considerable body roll and predictable understeer. This is more straight-line missile than Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT handling rival and is best enjoyed by deploying its immense power rather than repeatedly challenging its cornering limits.

Fuel economy is predictably poor. We observed as little as 3.3 km/l, equivalent to 30.3 litres per 100 km, while our best overall average was 6.4 km/l, or approximately 15.6 litres per 100 km. With a lighter foot, the display occasionally climbed to 10–11 km/l during steady highway driving.

Features and functionality

The Escalade-V is packed with equipment, led by a 36-speaker AKG Studio Audio System with Dolby Atmos and speakers integrated into the headrests and roof. It delivers an immersive, orchestra-like listening experience.

Two independent rear entertainment screens come with headphones. Second-row passengers receive two HDMI ports, two USB-C connections and a three-pin socket, while third-row occupants get a USB-C port on either side.

The infotainment graphics are crisp and colourful, with Google Built-In providing Maps, music and voice-controlled functions, although the voice assistant is not always accurate or responsive. A genuinely fast wireless charger sits near the centre console, while the air-conditioning delivers powerful airflow and excellent cooling. The front seats offer five massage programmes with three intensity levels, and the central storage compartment includes refrigerator and freezer functions, with our test vehicle indicating temperatures as low as -5°C.

Even the glovebox is electronically operated inside, while the oversized Cadillac crest outside releases the powered tailgate. All four doors can open and close electrically, with obstacle detection preventing contact with nearby people, vehicles or walls.

The luggage area remains usefully shaped, with boot-mounted controls to fold and raise the second- and third-row seats. A trailering control sits beneath the dashboard, and the Escalade-V can tow up to 3,266 kg when properly equipped.

Safety and driver assistance

A comprehensive ADAS suite includes intersection automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-zone steering assistance, enhanced automatic parking and HD Surround Vision. However, some collision and rear cross-traffic alerts can feel overly intrusive.

The digital rear-view mirror is initially distracting but becomes useful when passengers or luggage obstruct the rearward view. The 360-degree camera display is relatively small, though, and its low-light image quality could be better.

Super Cruise hardware is fitted, but Cadillac’s hands-free driving service is currently inactive in the UAE and remains subject to regional availability and regulations.

The myCadillac app also supports remote locking, unlocking and engine starting, vehicle location and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot capable of connecting up to seven devices.

Verdict

The 2026 Cadillac Escalade-V is designed for buyers who want maximum luxury, performance and road presence in a single vehicle.

Its bold design, powerful supercharged V8 engine and feature-rich interior make it stand out in the full-size luxury SUV segment. It delivers strong performance and exceptional comfort, making every drive feel special.

While some interior elements and technology could be more refined, its unique combination of size, power and American character makes it difficult to match.

For buyers in the UAE looking for a high-performance luxury SUV, the Escalade-V offers a distinctive alternative to traditional European rivals.

Rivals and alternatives

Key competitors include the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, BMW Alpina XB7 and Range Rover SV, along with performance SUVs such as the Lamborghini Urus SE and Mercedes-AMG G 63.

However, none combine the Escalade-V’s size, supercharged V8 performance and bold American identity in quite the same way.
