Polestar 4 SUV debuts with 630 km range, 1,665L boot

The new Polestar 4 SUV adds a conventional rear window, greater passenger and luggage space, V2L and new technology, while offering up to 544 hp, 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and 630 km of WLTP range
Electric performance brand Polestar has launched the Polestar 4 SUV, a more practical version of its electric performance model positioned in the compact executive electric SUV segment. It builds on the updated Polestar 4 coupé with additional cargo capacity and utility while retaining its design, technology and performance focus. Production started in Busan, South Korea, in Q2 2026, with first customer deliveries planned for Q4.
More space and practicality
The electric SUV retains the Polestar 4’s dual-blade headlights and illuminated logo, while adding a straighter roofline, more upright tailgate and full-length roof rails supporting a 100 kg dynamic load. Eight exterior colours include new Aurora silver-green and Ozone silver-purple, both also offered in matte finishes.
Unlike the coupé, it gets a physical rear window and conventional rear-view mirror, with the digital mirror optional. Rear headroom increases by 25 mm, while the larger panoramic roof extends to the tailgate, blocks 99.5% of UV radiation and can be specified with SUV-exclusive electrochromic glazing that switches between clear, tinted or selectively shaded sections.
Total storage is 1,680 litres, including the front and rear compartments. The boot holds 530 litres to the seatbacks or 655 litres to the roof, expanding to 1,665 litres with the 60:40 rear seats folded.
Inside, cosmic-themed ambient lighting and Star Knit décor remain, while the central display now supports nine widget shortcuts instead of six. An optional Harman Kardon system adds 12 speakers and a 1,400-watt amplifier tuned for the SUV.
Sustainable materials include MicroTech with a 100% recycled-PET backing and 53% bio-attributed PVC surface, Tailored Knit made from 89% recycled PET, and traceable chrome-free Bridge of Weir Nappa leather sourced as a by-product of the food industry.
Up to 544 hp and 630 km
Built on the coupé’s SEA architecture, the Polestar 4 electric SUV offers two powertrains. The Rear motor produces 272 hp and 343 Nm, reaches 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and offers up to 630 km WLTP; the Dual motor AWD makes 544 hp and 686 Nm, cuts 0-100 km/h to 3.9 seconds and offers up to 600 km WLTP.
Both use a 100 kWh battery with up to 200 kW DC and 22 kW AC charging in selected markets, though AC charging is limited to 11 kW in the UK, Ireland, South Korea and Canada.
The chassis shares its base specification with the updated coupé but gets SUV-specific tuning to balance comfort, long-distance refinement and responsive handling.
The optional Performance Pack adds recalibrated ZF active dampers, Brembo brakes with Swedish Gold callipers, and new 22-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres. Rear-motor models use black seatbelts and controls, Dual motor versions add gold detailing, while Performance Pack cars get full Swedish Gold seatbelts and rotary controls.
V2L, Camping mode and Gemini
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) will be added to all Polestar 4 models via a future software update, supplying up to 3.3 kW of 230V AC power through a separately sold certified adapter. Owners can set a minimum battery level at which power output stops.
A new Camping mode turns the parked SUV into a climate-controlled space with entertainment, ambient lighting and controls through the front and rear displays, supported by V2L, USB-C and the 12V outlet. It will also be added to other Polestar 4 models via a future update.
Google Gemini adds contextual, multi-turn voice interaction, while Gemini Live supports tasks such as brainstorming, trip planning and real-time translation. Polestar says the rollout covers 22 countries and 16 languages, with availability and functionality varying by market.
Lower carbon footprint
Polestar quotes a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 20.2 tonnes of CO2e for the Rear motor and 21.1 tonnes for the Dual motor, making the electric SUV one of the lowest-carbon models in its line-up.
Measures include 100% renewable electricity for battery-cell production, renewable-energy smelters supplying 34% of the vehicle’s aluminium content and 23% recycled aluminium.
Price and GCC availability
German prices start at €57,900 ($67,100 / AED 246,500) for the Rear motor and €65,900 ($76,400 / AED 280,600) for the Dual motor, while the Performance Pack starts at €76,300 ($88,500 / AED 324,900). Prices include German VAT but exclude handover fees; the USD and AED figures are approximate conversions.
In the GCC, Polestar’s UAE website lists the new Polestar 4 SUV as “available later this year”, confirming a planned UAE launch in 2026, though local pricing and final specifications remain unannounced. No wider GCC launch schedule has been confirmed.
Production is underway in Busan, South Korea, with first deliveries scheduled for Q4 2026.
