Italian luxury carmaker Maserati and Swiss haute horlogerie maison Bianchet have come together for a rare collaboration to mark a major milestone, the 100th anniversary of Maserati’s iconic Trident emblem. The result is the UltraFino Maserati Flying Tourbillon, a limited-edition timepiece that connects automotive performance with high-end Swiss watchmaking.
Founded in Bologna in 1914 and based in Modena for over 80 years, Maserati channels its racing heritage into luxury cars that blend performance, comfort, and Italian design. Its Nettuno V6 engine, with Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion and twin spark plugs, reflects this focus on delivering extreme performance with refined elegance.
Rooted in Neuchâtel with production in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Bianchet follows a similarly precise vision, combining Swiss engineering with design guided by the Golden Ratio, where proportion and beauty are central to every timepiece.
The UltraFino Maserati Flying Tourbillon represents the convergence of both brands, where performance engineering and haute horlogerie meet in a shared expression of form and function.
The UltraFino Maserati takes direct inspiration from the Maserati MCPura, the brand’s latest supercar unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Built in Modena, it comes with a 630 PS twin-turbo 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 and a carbon-fibre monocoque, capable of sprinting from 0–100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds, reflecting a strong focus on precision engineering.
That same performance-driven thinking carries into the watch. The skeleton dial echoes the MCPura’s design language, with a trident-inspired triple split-spoke layout and a birdcage-style structure, while the AI Aqua Rainbow finish from Maserati’s Fouriserie programme adds a xbold, prismatic look. Materials like grade 5 titanium and high-density carbon mirror the rigidity of the supercar’s chassis, and the exposed flying tourbillon is designed to reflect the rhythm and movement of the Nettuno engine.
Just like the car’s advanced suspension and traction systems, the watch is engineered for resilience, using shock-absorbing solutions that allow it to withstand forces of up to 5,000 G.
At the heart of the UltraFino Maserati lies the Bianchet UT01 calibre, a fully hand-finished movement featuring sand-blasting, satin brushing, polishing, and hand-bevelling across all key components. Built with an ultra-thin profile of just 3.85 mm, it uses a suspended mainspring barrel that removes the traditional ratchet wheel, helping achieve a 60-hour power reserve while maintaining efficiency and space optimisation. The 2.66 mm flying tourbillon, paired with a variable-inertia balance wheel beating at 3 Hz, ensures precision and stability, supported by a refined winding system that reduces friction and improves energy transfer.
The movement is made up of 225 components and 29 jewels, housed in a 9.9 mm carbon fibre and rubber case designed for strength and lightness. With sapphire crystal on both sides, 5 ATM water resistance, and a weight of just 36 grams (without strap), the watch exemplifies durability and craftsmanship. It is offered with an integrated carbon fibre bracelet or a vulcanised rubber strap with a titanium clasp, highlighting lightweight performance and haute horlogerie precision.
The UltraFino Maserati Flying Tourbillon is strictly limited to just 100 individually numbered pieces, created to mark the centenary of Maserati’s iconic Trident emblem. Each watch is handcrafted at Bianchet’s atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds, following the brand’s high standards of precision, finishing, and attention to detail.
To celebrate its debut at Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva, Maserati and Bianchet are also offering invited guests an exclusive Maserati MCPura driving experience, bringing the collaboration full circle.
